Organising Committee

The backbone of the National Wine Show, our committee members combine skills across company and executive management, marketing and communications, event management, stakeholder and sponsorship engagement, technology, wine and agricultural competitions and exhibitions to plan and deliver this multi-faceted show.

Advisory Panel

Our advisory panel includes four of Australia’s leading winemakers – Jim Chatto (McWilliam’s Wines, Rosevears Estate, First Creek Wines, Pepper Tree Wines, Chatto Wines), Tom Carson (Yabby Lake Vineyards; previously Tim Knappstein, Coldstream Hills and Yering Station), David Bicknell (Oakridge Estate) and current Chair of Judges Matt Harrop from Silent Way.

All panel members have served as a chair of judges for the show.

Judges

Each of the four judging panels comprises some of Australia’s most experienced and qualified wine judges.

Australia’s most experienced wine industry leaders, winemakers, and judges generously volunteer their time to provide expert advice and guidance to the organizing committee. Their involvement ensures that the National Wine Show and Festival maintain the highest standards of quality and credibility, reflecting the expertise and dedication that underpin Australia’s world-class wine industry.

Stewards

Our experienced stewards have a combined 100+ years supporting the show. Stewards volunteer their time for the two weeks of the show to ensure the efficient and smooth running of judging, and that the show’s judging principles and practices are strictly adhered to. Small teams of stewards are allocated to each judging panel.
