About us

Organising Committee

The backbone of the National Wine Show, our committee members combine skills across company and executive management, marketing and communications, event management, stakeholder and sponsorship engagement, technology, wine and agricultural competitions and exhibitions to plan and deliver this multi-faceted show.

Advisory Panel

Australia’s most experienced wine industry leaders, winemakers and judges donate their time to provide advice and guidance to our organising committee. Our advisory panel includes James Halliday AM and four of Australia’s leading winemakers – Jim Chatto (McWilliam’s Wines, Rosevears Estate, First Creek Wines, Pepper Tree Wines), Tom Carson (Yabby Lake Vineyards; previously Tim Knappstein, Coldstream Hills and Yering Station), David Bicknell (Oakridge Estate) and current Chair of Judges Matt Harrop (Curley Flat, Silent Way) . All panel members have served as a chair of judges for the show.

Stewards

Our experienced stewards have a combined 100+ years supporting the show. Stewards volunteer their time for the two weeks of the show to ensure the efficient and smooth running of judging, and that the show’s judging principles and practices are strictly adhered to. Small teams of stewards are allocated to each judging panel.
